In an absolutely thrilling race, Scott Quin tonight took silver behind British team mate Aaron Moores in the SB14 100 Breaststroke at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro.

After breaking the Paralympic record in the heat with a new best time of 1:06.65, Quin gave world record holder Moores the fight of his life to finish within 0.03 of him in the final, to take the silver medal.

Well done Scott, we are all so proud of you!!!

In December 2015, Club member Neil Ferguson, suffered a serious stroke which changed his life at the age of 13. Inspired by Neil´s friends and Age Group Squad swimmers Ruaridh and Callum (and their dads) who took part in the Stroke Association Resolution Run, Cati decided to swim the 10 km at the Great Scottish Swim on Friday 26th August. This was her first 10 km as well as being her first ever swim in a Scottish loch. Congratulations on taking on this challenge Cati for such a great cause!

Welcome to the new season of swimming! I hope everyone had a fantastic summer, and that you are all feeling inspired by our Team GB athletes competing in Rio!

All of our squads are now back in the water, with many new faces (swimmers and coaches) getting used to their new schedules.

Over the next few weeks I will be running squad meetings for parents. This will allow you to hear a little more about your squad and give you the opportunity to ask any questions which you may have. Your squad administrator will notify you of the time and place for your meeting in due course.

The first event on our calendar is our Club Championships. You will have received some information about this already and you will get more detail as we get closer to the time.

I look forward to getting around to visit all of our squads over the next couple of weeks and I hope everyone has a very successful season of swimming!

Hello everyone,

We hope you had a great summer and that swimmers and parents are already settling into their squads and training sessions.  A warm welcome to all new members from the Events Team.

We are busy getting plans in place for this season’s fundraising events which we hope many of you will come along to.  These are a great opportunity to meet new people and support the Club - details coming up soon!  At these events we will be having the ever popular raffles and the kids' favourite tombolas. We have already started to gather an excellent collection of prizes and we are  really keen for you to help us to get more.  We are looking for a variety of prizes - anything from unused toys or toiletries to a bottle of champagne, cinema tickets or a spa day….

We will be visiting squad sessions over the coming weeks but in the meantime if you have anything you would like to donate or have any ideas for prizes just get in touch with the Events Team – This email address is being protected from spambots.
