Almost 200 swimmers from nine squads took part in our Red Nose Day Team Relay Challenge at Ainslie Park on Sunday 19 March. Swimmers were set a target distance to achieve in teams of five, swimming as a continuous relay in the time allowed. All the teams achieved their target, some with less than 20 seconds to spare! Swimmers from our National Squads came along to support the younger swimmers, with many of them diving in to help the teams make their target.

An excellent weekend of racing at the North District Championships was headlined by two Scottish Age Group records from 14 year old Roisin Ramsay. Roisin set a new personal best time of 8:48.06 in the 800 freestyle and followed up with a superb 4:14.77 in the 400 freestyle to break both records and win the 16/under age group.

There were a number of other outstanding performances across the weekend, with a lot of the swimmers tackling a busy schedule of events. Fraser Allison had a great night of racing on Sunday when he swam in four finals and posted four personal best times!

It is fantastic to see the gains the swimmers have made in the early part of the season and they will now work towards improving their times in these events at the Scottish Short Course Championships in December.
