Performance

The club’s top squad is for serious, dedicated, and high achieving competitive swimmers only. Training is geared to delivering success at Scottish and British National Youth level and at Junior International level. The squad aims to develop school-aged swimmers into well rounded athletes who are ready to go forward and become senior international swimmers in the future.

The squad is coached by our Performance Coach Bruce Halloran and entry to the group is by invitation only for swimmers who have the attitude and commitment to fulfilling their potential at National level and beyond.

Junior Masters

Junior Masters is designed for swimmers who wish to continue to challenge and develop their swimming without a set minimum weekly attendance requirement or performance parameters. For those who wish to compete in a more relaxed and social way, we will be encouraging entry to appropriate competitions (probably 2-3 per year, including Club Championships). Competing will remain completely optional. Our aim for this squad is to deliver a level of swim training which suits the needs of the swimmers within the programme but which is targeted at continuing to develop the swimmers’ fitness and technique, encouraging them to enjoy the benefits of swimming without as much commitment as our main competitive pathway. The programme will also complement other aquatic disciplines such as Water Polo and Triathlon. Our objective is that swimmers will remain in this squad until they are around 17 years before moving on to our adult Masters programme, therefore retaining them within the sport for a longer period of time.

Masters

Masters is the section of Warrender Baths Club where adult swimmers can come to enjoy regular structured swimming sessions and we have more than 40 members. There are those wanting to get fit and improve their strokes, those who want to swim competitively and people who simply enjoy the social side. More details can be found on the Masters page.
