Junior Masters
Junior Masters is designed for swimmers who wish to continue to challenge and develop their swimming without a set minimum weekly attendance requirement or performance parameters. For those who wish to compete in a more relaxed and social way, we will be encouraging entry to appropriate competitions (probably 2-3 per year, including Club Championships). Competing will remain completely optional. Our aim for this squad is to deliver a level of swim training which suits the needs of the swimmers within the programme but which is targeted at continuing to develop the swimmers’ fitness and technique, encouraging them to enjoy the benefits of swimming without as much commitment as our main competitive pathway. The programme will also complement other aquatic disciplines such as Water Polo and Triathlon. Our objective is that swimmers will remain in this squad until they are around 17 years before moving on to our adult Masters programme, therefore retaining them within the sport for a longer period of time.
